Plan for Reading Club posting
On Fridays from 9th September 2022, we will sequentially post extracts of between four and seven pages from P.D. Ouspensky, "In Search of the Miraculous." Join us in the reading!
Over the course of about a year we envisage completing a reading together of In Search of the Miraculous: Fragments of an Unknown Teaching.
P.D. Ouspensky (1878-1947) was a key follower of G.I. Gurdjieff, and this book gives an unparalleled account of the content and circumstances of Gurdjieff’s early teaching (1915 to 1924) in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Essentuki.
Whether you have read it once or many times before, or you have never read it, this is an opportunity to read with new eyes this important work.
There will be a couple of weeks break from postings at Christmas and Easter holidays.
Some of us, on the basis of these regular sequential extracts, plan to arrange small local, face to face reading groups. It would be very good if others might also do this. As an example, our reading group is planned for Monday evening, for one hour, with the preparatory reading of the extract done over the preceding weekend. We will also read aloud the same material in our face to face session, and have a period of time for discussion.
When we have completed a reading of In Search of the Miraculous, we may consider a further key Fourth Way text.
