Summary
Various small creatures of the parasitic and destructive type populate the allegorical terrain of Gurdjieff’s teaching. Here, taking slugs as a starting point, and moving on to worms and others, a glimpse may be caught of the denying factors present in the inner world. Collision of the affirming with the denying force leads to potential contact with harmful vibrations. However, there are means to protect oneself or even benefit from them.
The slimy nature of slugs then leads down a slippery path of association to include an active and detailed look at the dynamism of our dual nature, and of the hypnotic process.
